Gift box sizes

A box with a lid — base and lid in two pieces — is the classic gift and clothing box. Here are the sizes shops keep in stock, from jewellery to coats, so you can start from one that fits.

Typical stock sizes, not a standard: every supplier's list is a little different. The sizes are the base's; the lid is made just big enough to slide over it. Your printer will adapt them to your product.

How to measure

Which board?

The default is E flute, 1.5 mm — firm and smooth to print. Thin paperboard (0.4–0.6 mm) suits small jewellery boxes; a bigger or heavier box wants B flute. The board doesn't change the base: it only moves the double walls and the slots, and makes the lid a little bigger so it still fits.
