Pizza box sizes
A pizza box is a little bigger than the pizza, so the crust doesn't rub the walls, and just deep enough that the lid stays off the toppings. Here are the sizes most pizzerias start from.

Typical starting points, not a standard: one pizzeria's large is another's medium, and every maker's stock sizes differ a little. Measure your own pizza and your oven tray before you order.
How to pick the size
- Width and depth — the pizza plus a little room: from a few millimetres to about an inch bigger than the pizza. Pizza boxes are square, so both numbers are the same.
- Height — about 40–50 mm for a regular crust. Deep-dish, stuffed crust or a pizza piled high needs 65–75 mm.
Our sizes are crease to crease, the way box makers quote them, so the floor of the box is exactly the width × depth you type. The space inside is about one board thickness smaller.
Which board?
Pizza boxes are made from thin corrugated board. The default is E flute, 1.5 mm — light, stiff and smooth enough to print a logo on. For an extra-large or heavy pizza, pick B flute, 2.8 mm, in the Board list. The thickness doesn't change the size of the box, only the double end walls, the lid and the lock slots that have to make room for it.
How it closes
The end walls are double: each one folds up, over and back down inside, and small tabs lock it into slots in the floor. Corner flaps on the front and back walls tuck in between the two layers and hold the corners. The lid hinges on the back wall and its front flap tucks in behind the front wall. No glue, no tape — and it still opens flat for the bin.
