Die-cut handle bag sizes
A die-cut handle bag — also called a punched handle, patch handle or banana bag — has its handle cut straight through the top. These are the sizes shops and trade shows use most, as a starting point for your print.

Typical starting points, not a standard. The 15 × 18 in / 375–380 × 450 mm bag is the most widely stocked; sellers recommend these bags for clothing, footwear, toys and gifts. Trade-show bags go up to 24 × 24 in.
How to read the sizes
- Width × height — the outside of the bag, including the handle area at the top. About 3 in (75 mm) of the height goes to the handle, so the usable bag is that much shorter.
- Bottom gusset — the full depth of the bottom when it is opened. US and UK sellers write it as “+ 3 in” or “+ 75 mm”. German sellers often write “+ 5 cm” for 5 cm on each fold, 10 cm open. In our generator the field is the fold depth, half of the full gusset — the links above fill it in.
- No gusset — a flat bag, fine for flat or light items. Set the gusset to 0.
The handle
The handle is punched through both faces near the top, usually through an extra patch of film that keeps it from stretching. Keep text and logos clear of it — the dieline shows where it sits.
