Typical stock sizes, not a standard: every supplier's list is a little different. Your printer will adapt them to your cake.
How to measure
- Length and width — the floor of the box, crease to crease. Measure the cake board, not the cake, and leave a little room to lift it out.
- Height — the tallest point of the cake, decorations included, plus a few millimetres so the lid doesn't touch the icing.
- The lid opens across the width, hinged on the back wall.
Which board?
The default is 0.5 mm paperboard — the white board stock bakery boxes are made of. A heavy or large cake wants F or E flute. The board doesn't change the floor of the box: it only moves the double ends and the slots, and makes the lid a little smaller so it still closes between the ends.
