Pillow box sizes
A pillow box is the soft little box with curved ends, used for gift cards, jewellery and favours. Here are the sizes most shops start from.

Typical starting points, not a standard: sellers measure pillow boxes in different ways and rarely say which number is which, so these are a blend. Print one and try your product in it.
How to measure
- Length — the whole box from one tip to the other, along the opening.
- Width — the flat face, across the curve, from one fold to the other.
- Height — how thick the box is at the middle when it is closed.
Why the height is limited
The curved ends only fold if the box is not too deep or too flat. Keep the height between about 15% and 41% of the width, and the width no longer than the length. Past that the board would have to bend too sharply at the corners, so the constructor says so instead of drawing something that will not close.
Board and the thumb notch
A pillow box has no board thickness field: it has no tight folds to allow for, and thin board folds best. If you want your customer to open it with a fingertip, switch on Thumb notch in the constructor — a half-round cut-out on the front face, at both ends.
